Gardasil vaccine trial results from New England Journal of Medicine


 Gardasil Vaccine?
Gardasil is a new vaccine for young women to help prevent cervical cancer and HPV which is made by the pharmaceutical giant, Merck. Here are the results of a recent clinical trial on the vaccine:
"BACKGROUND: A phase 3 trial was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of a prophylactic quadrivalent vaccine in preventing anogenital diseases associated with human papillomavirus (HPV) types 6, 11, 16, and 18."

"CONCLUSIONS: The quadrivalent vaccine significantly reduced the incidence of HPV-associated anogenital diseases in young women."
