Nausea and vomiting are common complaints for many women during their pregnancy. A recent clinical involving over 126 pregnant women compared the efficacy of Ginger and Vitamin B6 (separately) to placebo. The pregnant women were randomly allocated to receive either 650 mg of ginger or 25 mg of vitamin B6 which were both administered three times per day for 4 days.
The study authors concluded that both Vitamin B6 as well as Ginger were effective in relieving the symptoms of naseau and vomiting in pregnant women. However, the study authors also concluded that ginger was more effective than Vitamin B6 in relieving theses symptoms in pregnant women. Side effects from ginger were reported to be minor and did not require any treatment.
